Here at Sloat Junior High, Our School Counselors:
- Help resolve barriers that interfere with learning.
- Conduct classroom guidance learning activities, small group counseling, and individual counseling.
- Enroll new students and schedule students in classes.
- Coordinate the Explore Test and OCCT Tests.
- Support students with special needs.
- Offer crisis intervention and prevention.
- Have a Master's degree or higher education along with various certifications.
- Create a caring, supportive climate and atmosphere while working together with school personnel including administration, teachers, community counselors, and school psychologist.
School counseling programs are essential for students to achieve optimal personal growth, acquire positive social skills and values, set appropriate career goals and realize full academic potential to become productive, contributing members of the world community.
